Overall we did have a nice time and for the most part the staff were good (all of the bar/restaurant staff and the rooms division manager were all exemplary in their service).
Sadly there was a few items/incidents that let down the experience a bit.

What a place we stayed here for 3 nights 4 days in a Studio would recommend this Island to every one. Restaurant a bit pricy service on our first night was very slow and the food not that good, but on the third night service was good meal was better. Snorkling and the coral was breath taking.

We chose this resort based on price as we were on a tight budget for our second honeymoon. We loved it so much we paid to stay an extra 2 nights. The dive school was brilliant, I scuba dived for the first time ever and loved it. My husband, a regular diver, found the price service and experience great. The island was tropical paridise, staff were fantastic, the food brilliant and the facilities were amazing for the price. We are already planning our next trip, with the children this time, they will love it too.

The resort was well organised. The food was of excellent quality, friendliness of staff was consistently very good, the facilities of the resort very comfortable. The only let down was there is only one small beach that is really suitable for sunbathing & swimming as it is the only beach with sand. The rest of the island is very rocky or has coral which is hard to walk on. To access Nudey Beach it is over a 500 metre walk through bushland and steep rocky paths. A number of people were unable to make the walk - wheelchair bound, elderly or unfit and so they were unable to enjoy this experience and were bound to the pool and resort. The degree of difficulty listed on the paths was a bit of a joke amongst the guests. Easy paths would have been deemed as moderate and moderate as difficult etc in the real world. We would go back for the relaxing experience but would have to get fitter to tackle the walks on the island. Even on the coral beach, there were no lounges so swimmers could lie comfortably. Not an environment for disabled or unfit visitors.

My children and I had a wonderful time on Fitzroy Island. We stayed 4 nights in lovely accommodation, very comfortable with beautiful views. The island is one of the most scenic places I have ever been and we took lots and lots of photos. (particularly sunset photos from the balcony of the restaurant). All of the staff from the lovely cleaning staff to the restaurant and reception staff were all very friendly and helpful. The weather was great and there was lots to do if so desired.

Had a great time at Fitzroy Island ..On arrival we had a few problems with our room that needed fixing ....eg light in bathroom was missing and had paper stuck over it ..Didnt get fixed but moved on last nite and the room was great ...Island itself was beautiful .....The restaurant could do with more choices and staff could be a little more friendly ...

We were given an Ocean Suite and it was the most beautiful accomodation we have ever stayed in. Boats bobbing on a blue bay, sunset and gorgious views all the time.

We loved Fitzroy Island. The diving and snorkeling is excellent and the dive shop on Fitzroy Island were extremely friendly and offered excellent service.
We came home from a week long stay very relaxed!

Wow after reading other reviews chose to split our holiday and only spend 5 nights on the island...will definately stay longer on our next trip. The staff could not have been more helpful or friendly. Feel totally relaxed after our stay here. The food in the restaurant was excellent and offered plenty of options for my fussy husband. The walk to the light house and summit although an effort (especially in the middle of the day) is well worth the effort and the snorkelling is excellent. Can not wait for our next holiday as we will definately be paying another visit to Fitzroy Island.

Yet to be fully discovered Fitzroy Island is a stunningly beautiful and easy escape from commercial Cairns. The location of the resort offers unique evening views across to the mainland that allow your to listen to the gentle lapping of water while watching the sun go down. The wind never got overly , as it can do on other islands, due to the sheltered position of Welcome Bay. We had a quick parents escape and could not have asked for a better place to spend our precious quality time together.

Our night on Fitzroy Island was the highlight of our holiday. Great value for money, restaurant meal fabulous. I am recommending it to my friends and family. Booking via the website was easy.

Had a great time thanks to all the staff for making it a great holiday only down side was the choice of menue in the resturant wasnt varried enough sure this will change as the resort gets more estabilished will be back next year thanks to everyone
