2 Day Reef & White Water Rafting

Day 1: Join Sunlover Cruises for a memorable trip to their Outer Barrier Reef pontoon (floating platform) at Moore Reef, and enjoy the many activities available.

Day 2: Enjoy an exhilarating full day Tully River Rafting with Raging Thunder.

These 2 daytrips can be done on any two days of your holiday in no particular order.


SUNLOVER REEF CRUISES:

Departures: (Daily)
Make your way to the Reef Fleet Terminal on Spence Street, Cairns.
Check-in starts from 8.30am and closes at 9.15am for a 9.30am departure and cruise via Fitzroy Island to the pontoon at Moore Reef on the Outer Barrier Reef.
Arrives back in Cairns at 5:30pm.

Introductory Dive:
If you really want to get close to the amazing coral and marine life of the Great Barrier Reef, join an introductory scuba dive. All instructors are PADI qualified and experienced so you can immerse yourself in the reef up close, even without prior dive knowledge. Sunlover Reef Cruises offers a range of unique dive locations, with each dive tailored to suit your level of confidence and expertise.

Sea Walker Helmet Dive:
Seawalker has been designed to introduce people to the excitement of the underwater world, even without any prior dive knowledge or experience. You will be guided on your adventure by a qualified Seawalker diving instructor. Unlike traditional scuba diving, Seawalker enables you to breathe through your nose and mouth as you would above water. Seawalker also allows you to keep your face and hair dry while you experience the wonders of the Great Barrier Reef.

TULLY RIVER RAFTING:

Departures: (Daily)

  • The Tully Gorge is 2.5 hours from Cairns and 1 hour from Mission Beach
  • Cairns, Trinity Beach, Palm Cove Hotels at 6:30am, returns approx 6pm

  • Mild to Wild Grade 3 - 4 rapids
  • Exciting adventure with over 45 rapids

When you arrive at the river you will be fitted with a helmet and life jacket, allowing you to float along the river should you happen to fall out. All of the rafts stay together, traversing the rapids in a carefully planned sequence with guides providing cover from the river banks.

You will be given a short briefing then it is into the 8 man raft to spend the next 5 exhilarating hours with a huge smile on your face as you make your way down the rapids. Tully River Rafting is a lot of fun. There are 45 rapids to face and the professional crew will make sure you are safe and have a great time.

Each raft is controlled by a highly trained river guide, who teaches you the correct techniques during the day, and who will share with you the history and wonders of this magnificent landscape which few get to see.

Tully Rafting restrictions:

  • The minimum age for Tully rafting is 13 years.
  • Rafting is not suitable for anyone who is pregnant
  • Japanese and Korean guides available on request
