This tour is one of the most popular things to do from Cairns for backpackers and travellers on a budget.  This Cape Tribulation daytrip combines with the over-night tour transfer service for the guests who are staying overnight in Cape Tribulation.  If time permits an overnight stay at Cape Tribulation is a fabulous way to experience the rainforest sounds and animals as most rainforest animals are nocturnal.

This tour includes all Cairns accommodation, Beaches accommodation and Port Douglas accommodation pickups.

Head North on the scenic coastal road in a comfortable 21 seater air-conditioned bus to Mossman. The highway snakes along the shoreline past secluded beaches and rainforest clad mountains with views over the Coral Sea to the Great Barrier Reef.

First stop of the day is Daintree Mangroves Wildlife Sanctuary where you can enjoy coffee with some friendly animals -Kangaroos, Cassowaries, Gliders, Crocodiles and unique Australian wildlife.

Heading North, you cross the Daintree River on the cable ferry, followed by a stop at the Alexandra Range Lookout, which gives you a birds-eye view of the Daintree River, Port Douglas and on a clear day, landmarks South of Cairns.

After the lookout, your guide will lead you on the Marrdja Boardwalk or Jindalba Boardwalk where you can experience ancient rainforest.  

Lunch is a pre-packed lunch served in an esky near the Cape Trib Beach.  After lunch take a walk on the stunning Cape Tribulation beach - where 'the rainforest meets the reef'. Then we head back up the Alexandra Range towards the cable ferry. Stop at the Daintree Ice Cream Company for a chance to buy a tropical fruit ice cream (time permitting).

After crossing on the ferry head towards the Daintree village for a crocodile and wildlife cruise on the Daintree River. The boat cruise travels through the domain of the large Estuarian Crocodiles. Egrets wade near mangroves in the murky water of the river where crocodiles wait patiently for a meal.

Then travel further south to the crystal clear waters of Mossman Gorge, surrounded by lush rainforest - a magical location for a refreshing swim! The clear mountain river cuts through thick rainforest and tumbles over boulders on it's journey to the sea. You will have time to explore the rainforest before getting back on the bus.

On the journey home visit the picturesque tourist town of Port Douglas, arriving back in Cairns after an exciting day between 6.30pm or 7pm.
