Green Island is a beautiful coral cay on Australia’s Great Barrier Reef. Green Island is a Marine National Park uniquely rainforested and surrounded by white sandy beaches and magnificent coral reefs and abundant marine life. Passengers can take part in the many activities available or simply relax on the beach.


  • Check-in from 8:15am inside the Reef Fleet Terminal at the Big Cat counter
  • Departs 9am, back in Cairns 12.45pm
  • 45 minute cruise from Cairns to Green Island aboard “Reef Rocket” a modern catamaran


  • 2 hrs on Green Island
  • Choice of Snorkelling Gear OR Glass Bottom Boat tour
  • Snorkelling demonstration & reef presentation en route to Green Island
  • Use of Big Cat vessel during time at island as an air-conditioned base

Rafting – PM

A fun filled two hours of White Water Rafting with RNR on grade 2 & 3 white water rapids of the Barron River. Experience the natural beauty surrounding the Barron River, rafting through pristine World Heritage listed rainforest situated only 20 minutes North of Cairns.


  • Pickup from Reef Fleet Terminal at 1:55pm, return to your hotel at approx 6pm


  • 2 hours White Water Rafting on the Barron River
  • Safety equipment – life jacket and helmet

What to Bring:

  • Swimming costume
  • Hat, sunglasses
  • Lace up shoes or sandals that won’t fall off for rafting
  • Towel and dry clothes
  • Sunscreen (but don’t apply to the back of your legs for rafting)


  • Pickup for reef cruise is an extra cost
  • Lunch at own expense
  • Rafting is not suitable for anyone who is pregnant
