Fly over hundreds of reefs, islands and sand cays in a multi engine air-conditioned aircraft with Daintree Air Services. You will see approximately three hundred kilometres of the Great Barrier Reef.

From altitude the colours of the reef are amazing. It is the only way to gain a full appreciation of the size of the world's largest living structure. As you fly along the various reefs you may see dugong, manta rays, large green turtles and at certain times of the year huge humpback whales.

Lizard Island is situated 240km north west of Cairns. The island is surrounded by some of the most beautiful reef in the world, teeming with marine life.

The Island boasts twenty-three separate beaches, on which most of the time you will not see another person.

Once on Lizard Island you have a full six hours to either explore the world-renowned reefs that surround Lizard Island, or go for walks on one of the many walking tracks.

Places of interest include the Blue Lagoon and its beach, or you can walk to the top of Cook's Lookout, the mountain from which Capt Cook found his way out of the maze known as The Great Barrier Reef.

The marine life is always fantastic with hundreds of species of colourful fish, giant clams, large green turtles, sting rays, and all sorts of crustaceans.

The reef comes to within thirty metres of the beach, therefore no climbing on and off boats and more importantly no crowds. For those wanting to visit the reef in Australia, it does not get any better than this!

Your scenic flight back to Cairns is just as exciting, taking in views of the rainforests and wetlands of Daintree and Cape Tribulation, and the coastline of the northern beaches.

The tour is open to people of all ages, departing from Cairns Airport at 8.00am, returning at 5:00pm. It is subject to weather conditions.
