Itinerary:

  • Self-drive to Skyrail, Captain Cook Highway, Smithfield
  • Meet at Skyrail car park at 09:10am
  • Coach transfer to Freshwater Station
  • Kuranda Scenic Rail 9.50am
  • Free time in Kuranda
  • Skyrail Rainforest Cableway at your choice of time (last Skyrail is 3:30pm)
  • Disembark at Skyrail Caravonica Lakes to collect your car

Self-drive to Skyrail on the Captain Cook Highway, Smithfield. Leave your car in the car park - free of charge.  Meet the Down Under Tours coach in the car park.  You will be greeted by your Driver, who will collect your voucher, issue your Kuranda Boarding Pass and transfer you to Freshwater Station.  Do not go into the Skyrail terminal to check-in.  You are being transferred to Freshwater Station to meet the train first. 

Kuranda Scenic Rail: At Freshwater Station, board the famous Kuranda Scenic Rail for your 1.5hr journey to Kuranda. 

Kuranda Village: Free time is allowed to explore this quaint village, including the Markets which operate daily. 

Skyrail Rainforest Cableway: At your scheduled time, board Skyrail for your 1.5hr journey to Smithfield where you will disembark to collect your car.  There are two stops en-route to explore Barron Falls and Red Peak Rainforest Boardwalks.

Djabugay Tours:
The Djabugay Aboriginal Guided Tour at Barron Falls provides a fascinating insight into the Aboriginal history, language, culture, stories and traditions of the indigenous rainforest people through a personalised, small group [maximum 10 guests] on a 40 minute guided walking tour through the rainforest. Walk in the footsteps of the Djabugay people on our natural rainforest trails.

Skyrail Diamond View Gondolas provides guests with amazing panoramic views of the tropical landscape, Coral Sea and rainforest canopy, but also the unique perspective of looking straight down from the treetops to the forest floor through the glass flooring for the entire Skyrail experience. Taking a maximum of 5 persons and a waiting time of 7 minutes. (extra cost)
