Travel north commencing with a scenic coastal drive along the Captain Cook Highway, one of the world's most beautiful coastal routes, aside the Coral Sea and flanked by rainforest covered mountains with glorious views of offshore islands. Enjoy a short informative tour Port Douglas. Go onto the Daintree rainforest for morning tea at the New Mossman Gorge Gateway Centre*.

Enjoy an early morning walk, in the quieter morning environment, at the new Mossman Gorge Gateway Centre*, a special place of significance to the Ku Ku Yalanji people. On arrival you are transferred by eco-friendly open electric vehicle which silently winds its way into the tranquil Gorge surrounds. You guides will provide guests with a unique interpretation of the gorge and walk with you to give you a better understanding of this tropical rainforest or maybe instead enjoy a swim (subject to water volume). OR experience as an option, the real spirit and meaning of the ancient rainforest with the traditional Aboriginal owners on a dedicated Ku Ku Yalanji Aboriginal Dreamtime Walk.

After leaving Mossman Gorge your journey then goes on to the Daintree River for a one-hour cruise on the mighty Daintree River. With the assistance of an experienced river guide you will see the special wildlife of the Daintree River, the domain of the estuarine crocodile and also living amongst the mangrove and rainforest lined river banks are tree snakes, pythons, a large variety of land and water birds and butterflies, so be sure to have your camera ready.

Enjoy a tropical lunch of wild Barramundi*, garden salads and a full tropical fruit tasting, accompanied with fresh juice, tea/coffee in the tropical surrounds of The Daintree Tea House.

Onto Hartley’s Crocodile Adventure. The exciting 'Crocodile Attack Show' will entertain you with fascinating information on these prehistoric reptiles. Following afternoon tea, the shorter cruise on Hartley's Lagoon will provide guaranteed close up sightings of estuarine crocodiles. View Koala and Cassowary feeding sessions.

Upgrade to Ku Ku Yalanji Walk to your Adventure!
The Ku Ku Yalanji have learnt about plants of the rainforest from their elders. It is their culture and their traditions. The Ku Ku Yalanji Dreamtime Walks feature a traditional humpy, a creekside stop for a demonstration in the art of making paint and a various range of bush tuckers, medicine plants, fruits, and some of the most beautiful rainforest in the region. After the walk, share a cultural didgeridoo performance with a Ku Ku Yalanji elder.

* The Mossman Gateway Centre (MGC) proposed open date is approx 1 May 2012. The MGC permits us to travel directly to the Gorge until their opening. Gorge visitation will remain until opening & as per itinerary above, but without visitation to the centre.

• Depart Port Douglas around 2.15pm for Hartley’s Crocodile Adventures and Crocodile Attack Show - Australia’s best crocodile show

Pick up from your Cairns accommodation and journey to Port Douglas. Take the morning and lunchtime to wonder down Macrossan Street, meander through the shops, walk to the foreshore, visit Marina Mirage, view historic heritage buildings or just take in the great café culture. Swim, walk or just sit and soak up the sun at the famous Four Mile Beach. Early in the afternoon travel to Hartley’s Crocodile Adventures where you will take a lagoon cruise, view Australian wildlife and the famous Crocodile Attack Show. Return via Palm Cove.
