The safari is one of the only full day tours to take you "off the beaten track" and deep into the wilderness. You will experience diversity plus - wildlife in the WILD - from kangaroos to turtles, giant goannas, snakes & sometimes even a Platypus.

The day begins as you depart Cairns and climb into high altitude mountains to the west, entering the first of the World Heritage National Parks rainforests.

Enjoy morning tea on the edge of a sleepy volcanic crater lake with the option of a morning swim in crystal waters, and a nature walk for wildlife spotting of Snapping Turtles, Water Dragons and maybe even a Platypus.  Giant strangler figs are seen in this area dating many hundreds of years old.

From here, you will venture off-road traversing mountain ranges and old logging tracks (restricted access permits). Enjoy views from mountain ridges while passing through ghost gum Australian bush country. A cold cuts buffet including meats, cheeses, fruits etc; is served in the tranquillity of the wilderness. Vegetarians can also be catered for.

The afternoon continues as you ascend the highest mountain peak of the day on narrow 4WD tracks to the peaks offering spectacular views of the valley below.

Afternoon refreshments are served prior to the descent back to Cairns and civilisation. You will arrive back after an unforgettable day at around 5.30pm.

(This is a fully equipped & modified Landcruiser trooper, with all forward facing seats with seat belts, PTO Winch, snatch straps, slings and everything else needed including a CHAINSAW which is used on a regular basis to remove trees from the tracks.)
