Day 1: Arrive into Cairns, check into The Lakes Resort

The Lakes is a resort located 3 kms from Downtown Cairns and the airport. There is a large inviting swimming pool with a sandy beach feature, and a couple of BBQ's, a fitness centre and a Tennis court under lights.

The resort takes its name from the adjoining nature reserve of the Centenary Lakes that has a swing park with BBQs and lots of open space for the children to play.

There is a spa centre which includes all aspects of skin care, body therapy and treatments as well as hair styling. It is a lovely centre and offers full day packages.

Your accommodation is in a Two Bedroom Apartment. The fully screened apartments are very luxurious and have a spacious living area, including a colour television with cable channels, telephone and a gorgeous adjoining patio or balcony. Each unit is self-contained with a fully equipped kitchen, laundry and lockup garage facilities. All apartments are air-conditioned and have a ceiling fan.

There is the option of two double beds (King and Queen beds) or a Queen and two single beds. You can also upgrade to a Two Bedroom Deluxe Apartment featuring 2 x bathrooms at an extra charge.

Day 2: Green Island Day Tour
This is the perfect day trip for all ages, suitable for children, infants and babies. Green Island has crystal clear waters and white sandy beaches. There are lots of fish and also coral to admire, and it is perfect for paddlers and learning snorkellers as you can snorkel straight off the beach.

Green Island is a very small pretty Coral Cay that is easy to circumnavigate by foot. There are a variety of fun, affordable activities including the Underwater Observatory situated at the end of the jetty, beach hire, fish feeding, glass bottom boat tours and exploring the rainforest.

Kids will love Marine Melanesia (entry charge applies) view a magnificent range of tribal carvings and Asian artifacts, along with huge live crocodiles, beautiful marine aquariums and giant marine turtles. In the turtle pool you will see Green Turtles as well as the Hawksbill Turtle. Handle a "live" young crocodile and have a photo taken to show your friends.

This is a full day tour which departs Cairns at 8:30am and 10:30am and returns at 2:30pm and 4:30pm for a 45-minute cruise to Green Island.

Day 3: Kuranda Train & Skyrail

The coach will pick you up in the morning at The Lakes and transfer you to Freshwater Station for check in. It is then time to board the famous Kuranda Scenic Rail for an unforgettable journey, winding over the mountain range over bridges and through tunnels into Kuranda. There are spectacular views of Cairns and the Coral Sea from your carriage and a souvenir booklet is included.

Kuranda is a small village in the Rainforest with one main street. From the train station it is a very easy walk to the markets and other attractions.

This town became famous in the 1970's when many artists moved to the area to create art and crafts. A local market was born which is still famous today. There are also local art and craft shops and cafes.

The Attractions are many and varied including Birdworld, The Butterfly Sanctuary and the Rainforest Noctarium. There are plenty of public facilities and also a park.

At the scheduled time you will board Skyrail, the world's most beautiful rainforest experience. Skyrail has four seat cablecars which travel up & down the mountain to Kuranda. The scenery is magnificent looking out over the Coral Sea and cane fields while skimming across the top of the Rainforest Canopy.

There are two stops enroute where your family can learn about the rainforest in the National Park's interactive information area and also take a walk along raised boardwalks through the rainforest. It is fun and educational.

Once back in Smithfield, you will be transferred back to The Lakes.

Lunch is not included in this daytrip.

Day 4: Hartleys Creek Crocodile Adventures

Hartley's Crocodile Adventures is the best place to see crocodiles in Tropical North Queensland. This new wildlife attraction is situated on the scenic coastal drive between Palm Cove and Port Douglas.

The park is home to a number of distinctive vegetation types and an abundance of wildlife including water birds, turtles, wallabies and cassowaries. The boat ride on Hartley's Lagoon is a unique eco-adventure! Explore the natural habitat of the Australian Saltwater Crocodile and the surrounding wetlands on specially constructed boats.

Hartley's also offers tours of the crocodile farm and you can impress your friends with a photo of you holding a live crocodile!!

The park also offers activities such as crocodile feeding, cassowary feeding, koala feeding and snake show at various times throughout the day. Boat cruises operate three times a day and the world famous Crocodile Attack Show is not to be missed! The professional and experienced keepers will demonstrate the notorious crocodile death roll and head-shake. You will get to see a huge crocodile being hand fed up close in the specially designed amphitheatre.

This is a half day tour departing at approx 12:40pm and returning at 5.00pm.

Days 5, 6 & 7: Free days at your leisure.

Day 8: Check out of hotel, end of package.
