Wooroonooran Rainforest Trip

Updated: 31-May-2012

Wooroonooran National Park is a World Heritage Area where ancient plants exist, unchanged for millions of years.

This undisturbed region of Tropical North Queensland remains undiscovered by Cairns tour companies because of its rugged rainforest and remote location. Few other Cairns tours operate in Wooroonooran National Park.

Queensland's two highest peaks, Mt. Bellenden Ker and Mt. Bartle Frere, are the main features of Wooroonooran National Park. These mountains form a rampart above the rambling sugarcane fields that flank the wilderness on the eastern side. The views of this tropical region are spectacular.

Wooroonooran Safaris offer rainforest tours that are adventurous, fun and educational. Hikers meet untamed wilderness face to face, and learn about the history and ecology of the rainforest under the safe supervision of the experienced naturalist guides.

You will be lead on interesting walks through untouched wilderness free of human development. Tours are suitable for all ages.
